Northern Berkshire Community Partnership for Children

PARENTS

Child Care Scholarships - Partial scholarships are available to help working families offset the cost of child care. Children of working families earning up to 125 percent of the state median income are eligible to receive subsidies. Parents are given a choice in the placement of their children in any of the public or privately run programs, and pay a set fee based on a statewide income-based sliding fee scale. We also offer scholarships to support children who are not eligible under these criteria but exhibit other needs-based factors.

Transportation - The Partnership provides van transportation for children on CPC scholarships to get to and from their CPC providers/programs.

Playgroups - The Partnership shares the Adams Playspace with Northern Berkshire Family Net. Family Net offers several playgroups throughout the week at various sites, including some at this location. For more information about these playgroups, please call Family Net at 413-664-4821 or visit them on the web at www.familynetfun.com

Parent-Child Activities and Family Events - Opportunities to play and learn can happen in a variety of settings. Spending quality time with parents and siblings is important to a preschooler's development and growth. In addition to playgroups, we offer at least one parental bonding or family socialization activity or event per month.

Parenting Education Workshops - The Partnership offers one workshop per month on topics that parents have questions about, including: child development, behavior, communication, nutrition, parenting skills and more.

Lending Library - The Partnership office houses a bookshelf chuck full of books for preschoolers as well as books on parenting. We also have computer learning games like Jump Start and Reader Rabbit for the kids and child development videos for you. Our latest additions are several wonderful CD's full of music by popular children's musicians like Ella Jenkins and Hap Palmer. We also have some toys and learning games that can be borrowed. Stop by today!

Information and Referrals - Feel free to call the Partnership office anytime if you are looking for information about preschool programs, financial assistance, health insurance coverage, social programs or area events. We will do our best to provide you with the information you are seeking, or at least put you in touch with someone who can.
